The Moonlit Road

Congrats to Bethany Polutta, Brian Latham, and Makevia Cappers for having their stories published on the Moonlit Road Website.

Mrs. Cynthia Miller read the “Number Ninety” about a haunted mansion on the Battery in Charleston, SC and discussed it with her classes. Then she had the students explore the Moonlit Road website, sponsored by the Georgia Department of Education, and read any stories that they liked; many of the students have been going back to read other stories for leisure on the website, and some students have even gone home and shared this site with their parents. The website features southern ghost stories.

Mrs. Miller told her students to write a true story that had experience or someone else whom they knew experienced and that they could embellish it if they wished. A few students’ stories were submitted to the website.

It is a great honor for Bethany Polutta, Brian Latham, and Makevia Capers to have their stories placed on the The Moonlit Road website. The students are so excited and proud.

Mrs. Miller hopes that the students that got honored will write more stories and pursue writing as a career now that they are published writers.

This is a first for the website to recognize a high school and honor the students by making them published writers. This is also a first for Dorchester District 2.
