Spring is in the air. Take your mind off flaring pollen allergies and melted candy in plastic eggs, with spring spirit week. A chain of events that includes dressing up in costumes, class warfare,  dodging your fellow peers and more. Everyday will be packed full of fun. From April 8-12, students can participate in these fun school activities that are sure to spark excitement for the upcoming break.

On Monday, Grease vs. Greece will be the theme for students and faculty. Borrow a bed sheet or some gel to participate in a battle for the ages with greasy hair against gods and goddess’ flair.  All outfits must be school appropriate and meet dress code standards. There will also be food trucks outside near the 500 building during ILT.

Tuesday will bring you back from ancient Greece to your soon to be reality with Professional Day. Students are encouraged to dress as what (or who) they aspire to be once they’ve graduated. Ready to work testing will also be taking place on Tuesday with an altered schedule, so ILT is being postponed to after third block.

Wednesday will be another verses day, but with more of a modern renaissance. It’s going to be artist vs. artist. Dress as Lil’ Pump or as knock-off Bob Ross, or whoever might fit your taste. R2W testing will continue on Wednesday as well, but this will be the last day.

Peep candies are fan favorite during spring, so you better resist your urge to eat your fellow classmates, because Thursday is peep warfare. During the day, each tier of students will dress in the according colors: seniors: pink, juniors: yellow, sophomores: blue and freshmen: purple.  Seniors will be participating in an egg hunt and a signing day. Juniors can also go to the auditorium to for a Tumbleston event to hear about their senior portrait information.

As a “fancy” finale, grab some socks and sandals to dress up as a tacky tourist the day before you become an actual tacky tourist on your spring break. Students are also able to participate in a dodge ball tournament, where students will face off against each other. The admission fee will set you back all of $2. The money collected will go towards funding the Wave Breaker.

Please remember that all spirit wear must be within dress code and be appropriate for school. Enjoy this kick-off to spring break 2019.
