Assassin’s Creed Odyssey takes place around 2400 years ago and is about the struggle between Athens and Sparta. It is in Greece and has a fun map to explore. This is the 11th major game in the series and also being the 20th over all. It was released on October 5th, 2018.

Odyssey has the biggest map so far in the Assassin’s Creed franchise. The previous title, Assassin’s Creed Origins, had a very large map as well, but Odyssey’s map is debated to being even bigger. It is absolutely beautiful to look at. From the oceans to the mountains, this map has no shortage of things to do.

You are able to choose whether you want to play as a man or a woman. They are two siblings, Alexios and Kassandra. If you choose either of them, you will play with them and them only for the entirety of your playthrough. Some people have argued that Kassandra’s voice acting is better than her brother’s.

Regardless of who you decide to play as, the story is amazing. Your character will start out as a loner and a child will walk up to you and try to speak with you. From there you’ll begin the game and play however you please. Assassin’s Creed is a game mostly about stealth. They are given wrist blades that extend when you move your wrist up. This is a great tool for the Assassin’s to use while maintaining stealth. Of course you can just fight everyone, but where’s the fun in that? Odyssey introduces a new mechanic, bounties. If you commit enough crimes and break enough laws, then someone is more likely to out a bounty on your head. In which case a group of up to 5 bounty hunters will attempt to kill you. This has made the game’s immersion even better.

Odyssey is one of the greatest games in the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Although Origins was great as well, I think Odyssey is still better. The biggest reason being because of just how beautiful the map is. With 50 hours of story, it’s hard to get bored of this game. I look forward to continue playing this and I hope the next game is even better.
