This saturday at 12:00pm to 4:00pm, Magnolia Dance Academy is holding a fundraiser at their studio to raise money for the Dorchester Paws animal shelter. The fundraiser is dedicated towards raising money to help the shelter provide necessary and vital supplies to keep the animals healthy and happy.

Olivia Trevillyan of Summerville High School is the head coordinator of the Dance for Dogs event. This summer she began thinking about how she could help our local animal shelter, and was inspired by other local charity events. From that inspiration, Dance for Dogs was born.

Olivia and many other dancers of Magnolia Dance Academy have been putting in all their effort for the past months to make this event happen.

“Like many of my friends and teachers at my studio, I am a huge advocate for animals. We feel that this event will help raise awareness of Dorchester Paws and all of the amazing animals there, that need loving homes and supplies,” said Olivia Trevillyan, a freshman student.

“Our event is dedicated towards raising money and supplies for Dorchester Paws, and hopefully helping some dogs and cats find new loving homes,” stated Trevillyan.

The Dance for Dogs event was designed to bring the students of Summerville together over one thing: our love for animals.

“I think our event is important because it will help bring the community together, and help support such an amazing cause,” said Trevillyan.

The Dance for Dogs event is to be sponsored by Dunkin Doughnuts on Old Trolly Road; they  will provide the doughnuts for sale on Saturday. Make sure you stop by and buy some doughnuts for a good cause!
