Nearly 2,500 students crowded the track Tuesday afternoon for the first ever Good Be-Wave-ior event. Good Be-Wave-ior was made for the students who haven’t gotten referrals so far in the 2017-2018 school year.

The event was suggested by Principal Farrell, and Leadership teacher Mrs. Miller took on the planning of the event with her students.

“We hope this will make an incentive for students to be on their best behavior,” explained Mrs. Miller.

The event featured several food businesses, live musical performances, obstacle courses, and more attractions.

“I’m very lucky that I have a list of businesses who help me out with events like this,” Mrs. Miller said. “I contacted them, and with my Leadership students, I was able to come up with the ideas to have students entertained for the hour of fun.”

The event was made to gear students to behave more responsibly and avoid referrals.

“It’s good to just pat people on the back who’ve done good so far this year and meeting these expectations the teachers and admins have set,” Mr. Rutherford said.

“It motivates everyone to stay focused and do good for the next event,” added Ms. Causey.

Students also enjoyed the event and saw its benefits.

“There’s so many fun things to do, I can see why this would motivate people to not get in trouble,” Abi Aquino, junior, said.

“It’s great because it’s more funding for the school, and it’s a great incentive to behave better,” Jennings Woods, senior, commented.

Judging by the smiles and laughter, students are definitely looking forward to next time Good Be-Wave-ior rolls around.
