The 45th annual Flowertown Festival began on March 31 and ended on April 2. Every day was packed with crowds of people and activities, just like every year before. Many people took the opportunity to further bond with family and friends by taking part in food, vending, and rides.

The festival always has a lot to offer for people from all around the country. Patrons can find everything from paintings, to baby clothes, to candles that also work as lotion. People use the vending opportunities to put products and homemade foods out there for people to try and buy.

Tiffany Allen, a sophomore, went to the festival and explains her experience.

“There were a lot of people when I went… it was really cool to see all the new things people create. Something pops up every year. Something new” stated Allen.

The festival is for people of all ages. It has rides for children and teens as well as vender paths for those looking for a more calm approach. However, there is tons and tons of food for everyone all over the place.

“I love food. You can’t turn a corner in the festival without running into some type of food stand promoting something sugary and fried” stated junior Shane Blade.

The Flowertown Festival is an obvious staple of Summerville. It’s a time where you can meet new friends or run into old ones. The nostalgic feeling of coming back to your roots always leaves people waiting for next year.
