Last Wednesday and Thursday juniors took the WorkKeys test. The WorkKeys is a test is a test that all juniors take toward the end of the year. The WorkKeys is an assessment meant to test an individual’s job skills.

Many juniors and other students who have taken the WorkKeys before feel as if the test is unnecessary and a waste of time.

“WorkKeys was boring but it was also extremely easy at the same time” stated Kayla Gibbs, junior.

However, some had other opinions.

“WorkKeys is a piece of work but it will help you in the long run with almost any job field” said Mary Taylor, senior.

The WorkKeys helps employers hire new employees for their workplace.WorkKeys is an assessment that measures skills that employers feel are key to having a successful workplace.

When taking the WorkKeys test there are three different sections that are tested: Applied Mathematics, Locating Information, and Reading for Information. There are different levels that are incorporated in the test. While testing the levels build on each other while still including the skills that were used in previous levels.

Anyone can take the WorkKeys, students, job seekers, and seasoned professionals. The WorkKeys is one test that may not feel essential to many but it is promised to help in the long run with job opportunities.
