The 2018 first quarter A/B Honor Roll Celebration occurred on November 9, 2018. It was hosted in the new culinary building. It was an event where students of all grades who made the honor roll received a pretzel for their hard work.

The line for the event was longer than expected. The line was all the way up to the door entering the building..

“It was a very long line of kids. I was not expecting so many people to show up. I was very surprised,” said Lance Galera, sophomore.

Many students believed it was a good motivation to get A or A/B honor roll. The pretzel this quarter satisfied many students. This may be encouragement for students to strive for second quarter

“I think it is a great event to motivate students to strive each quarter to have A or A/B honor roll,”  said Samantha Smith, sophomore.

Most students thought a snack was enough, but a handful thought they deserved a little more.

“In my opinion no it was not really enough. I think we should get a little more than just a pretzel,” said Lance Galera, sophomore.

However, some stood by the incentives as is.

“I think the pretzel was enough. It may only be a pretzel now, but getting good grades now will also make you more successful later in life,” said Samantha Smith, sophomore.

Administration and leadership work hard to bring us these events. They consult with students who received the award from past events.

“I email Ms. Miller and get with the leadership kids, and we also get with culinary so they can make the rewards,” said Mr. Allen, administrator.

Mr. Allen has his own incentive in doing all of this.

“The point is to give the students an incentive to get A or AB honor roll besides just their name on the wall,” said Mr. Allen.

The students can’t wait to see what the next quarters incentive will be.
