Since the beginning of time students have pondered the question, “do teachers have a life outside of school?” and if so, “what do they do?”

Surprisingly teachers can become close with other colleagues and form their own “squad” that they hang out with on the weekends.

“I met them all here at SHS, Ms. Campbell was my level head and Ms. Hayes was the 9th grade counselor so we all worked pretty closely together” said Sutton.

Ms. Sutton bonded with Ms. Hayes by going to SHS sporting events with her and working together during their planning periods.

“Ms. Campbell and I bonded over Clemson football and we all just started to spend a lot of time together. Plus we’re all sarcastic so that helps” said Sutton.

The three teachers go shopping together, eat out, watch movies, and of course watch Clemson Football. The best memory the squad has is going to Tampa, Florida for the Clemson National Championship game.

Mr. Mitchell, Mr. Lenke, Mr. McCauliffe, and Mr. Semerano make up one of the guy squads at SHS.

“We met at school and had similar interests like coaching, sports, and golf, which made us become close friends” said Mitchell.

Outside of the workplace the male teacher group plays golf together, watches various sports, and just hangs out in their off time.

Contrary to the common belief that teachers don’t have lives outside of school, they actually have pretty exciting ones, even if students can not see them.
